Goodbye politics, economics, government, finance, political/govt news, personal experiences/opinions, philosophy (v1.0)

I have spent considerable time in the last few years understanding these subjects (politics, economics, government, finance, political/govt news, philosophy). I had both conservative and liberal friends helping.

Before I retired, I ignored the world. It was work, work, work. I did vote though.

After I retired, I explored these subjects and formed a world view (and also got an education in spiritual views too: still trying to understand the Hindu equation Atman = Brahman, but it is hard!! Will continue on spiritual quest privately). I got politically engaged. I contributed to democrats in 2020 and 2022 and 2024.

I have shared with you my views and knowledge on these. I hope they were helpful. I have tried to present the information in a clear, logical, systematic and calm and nonabrasive way. I have written everything I want to write about these. Not interested in getting into a one-on-one discussion on any of these subjects with anyone. Such discussions can potentially quickly turn toxic!! You can lose friends!! But comments posted to the blog are welcome.

I have shared what I am willing to on my personal experiences and views. Very few personal essays going forward.

My future essays are specialized. Far fewer people may be interested. I will be far more leisurely and selective and deliberate in writing them. The essays most people will be interested in have already been written.

Almost all future essays are purely factual from reliable sources, and I will try to find interesting info to share. Main future thrust is travel, local, science (primarily life sciences, climate/earth sciences, physics) and history. I may occasionally write on interesting travel we actually embarked on ourselves or planned and researched also. I will continue writing essays on Hawaii/Oahu. Very occasionally I might write an essay on technology.

I will be diving into life sciences next as a major topic and writing about that. Main focus in life sciences is a wide spectrum spanning across evolution, paleoanthropology, paleontology, genetics, biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, synthetic biology, biotech, all the way to nutrition, medicine and pharmaceuticals.

I consider science factual although science does evolve over time. Science essays could be pure science accepted by the majority of scientists, taught at a high-quality American university, published in a well-regarded book or documentary, available in a reliable web source, or published in a peer reviewed journal (or articles describing that content in easier to understand terms). It could be a historical narrative about the development of a treatment or medication or discovery. It could be about the impact a treatment or medication, or medical condition or discovery had on society. It could be about how science evolved with time in an area. It could be a narrative on the cause and impact of a medical condition or discovery. Also, could possibly cite currently unsolved science problems and what research is being undertaken on them. Well accepted background history around these may be cited too. Nothing said though about govt policy or actions, or politics that may relate to these.

My contribution is primarily topic and sources selection, synthesis, presentation and sometimes commentary for most understandability, not generation of original content.
