Summary of Blogging and Inquiry Process (v1.0)

This document serves as the final meta-inquiry, reflecting on the methodology that has guided my exploration, learning, and knowledge sharing since my retirement in 2018. Overview Following my retirement in 2018, I transitioned into a period of consistent blogging and structured inquiry. What began as organic exploration eventually evolved into a disciplined system of knowledge management, supported by a community of readers who provided invaluable feedback and quality assurance. The Inquiry Lifecycle 1. Origin and Motivation Inquiries were rarely abstract; they were almost always triggered by specific life events, experiences, or personal questions. By anchoring my work in reality, I ensured that every project held practical relevance. 2. The "Initial Customer" Framework Every inquiry began with a defined customer—myself, my wife Dee, or a specific acquaintance. This framework was essential for maintaining focus and efficiency: Focus: It kept the scope na...

Why I am writing about climate science? (v1.1)

I was curious about what would happen if I posed an intentionally provocative or controversial statement to an AI assistant. I picked the subject of climate denial and posted the following statement: "Climate denial is human nature in action. Politicians don’t want to admit it because then they have to do something about it. People don’t want to accept it because this is not what they want to hear. Vested interests will pursue their own interests. Countries are jockeying for position and advantage on this so they may deny for that purpose. On the execution side, this is not simple to solve at all so deny." Here is the response from Copilot. I have not fact-checked it, but it looks pretty solid: Copilot Response: A Complex Topic "You’ve raised an interesting point about climate denial. Indeed, it’s a complex issue with various factors at play. Let’s break it down: Human Nature and Cognitive Biases: As you mentioned, climate denial can be a manifestation of human nature. ...

Goodbye blogging (v1.0)

My blogging career is now over, at least on this site. I had written earlier that this day was coming: The end of my essay writing is not far Thank you to everyone who has read my essays over the years. The blog will remain online as long as Blogspot allows it. But there will be no new essays here. Any future writing I do will be outside these blogs. In retirement, my focus is now on socializing, relaxed reading, and spending time with relatives and friends. I may occasionally write a few personal retirement‑life essays to share privately with family and friends. A set of essays specifically on Hawaii, Oahu, Retirement, and Seniors is available here: jaykasipersonal.blogspot.com My climate essays have been moved to a dedicated site: climatebyjay.blogspot.com Feel free to share the climate site with anyone who may benefit from it. You are welcome to reuse or adapt the climate content (and other non‑personal content on this site) as you see fit. Please use judgment when it comes to my p...

The end of my essay writing is not far off (1.0)

Image
I had started a brand-new probe on climate, and earth. I have already blogged on everything, I am willing to write about me, my opinions and experience. I have already synthesized my world views and opinions and best understanding of truth on everything of most importance and interest to me (except this current probe) through my essay writing and research. This therefore is my last major thrust in essay writing and then I will stop. I would have to find a new hobby though!! Photography? Socializing? Relaxed Reading? Talk to People/Meet new people (right brain?)? I am glad you enjoyed my work. I take no inputs until an essay is written and then I take inputs. I do my own independent research and strive for balance and accuracy. The inputs may cause me to revise some sections. I rarely comment in public on any subject I don't have a World View or Opinion on and have not researched. I am selective on what areas I choose to learn, what history I choose to dig into, and what news I choo...

Done with the topic of life sciences (v1.0)

I have now completed my series of essays on life sciences. I covered genetics and evolution, paleontology, paleoanthropology, biochemistry/molecular biology, and synthetic biology. An undercurrent was spirituality, and I captured that aspect of it by editing my final spirituality essay:  https://jaykasi.blogspot.com/2023/11/wrapping-up-spirituality-probe.html. Next major topic is climate, environment and earth sciences.

No more on physics and spirituality (v1.0)

With the last wrap up essay on spirituality, I am closing that topic. Also closing the physics topic. Said all I want to say about these two topics.

Goodbye politics, economics, government, finance, political/govt news, personal experiences/opinions, philosophy (v1.0)

I have spent considerable time in the last few years understanding these subjects (politics, economics, government, finance, political/govt news, philosophy). I had both conservative and liberal friends helping.  Before I retired, I ignored the world. It was work, work, work. I did vote though.  After I retired, I explored these subjects and formed a world view (and also got an education in spiritual views too: still trying to  understand the Hindu equation Atman = Brahman, but it is hard!! Will continue on spiritual quest privately ). I got politically engaged. I contributed to democrats in 2020 and 2022 and 2024.  I have shared with you my views and knowledge on these. I hope they were helpful.  I have tried to present the information in a clear, logical, systematic and calm and nonabrasive way.  I have written everything I want to write about these.  Not interested in getting into a one-on-one discussion on any of these subjects with anyone. Such di...

why I write essays, and a guide to the blog (v1.0)

My essays serve multiple purposes for me. Keeps me busy and occupied in retirement. Keeps my mind active. It is a hobby.  I learn a lot on subjects I find interesting. But I am no Physicist, Biologist, Chemist, Political Scientist, Economist, Philosopher, Theologist, Paleontologist, Geologist, Historian, Anthropologist, Finance Expert, Climatologist, Meteorologist, etc. I am a writer, nothing more. On factual topics, I learn things and write about them. They help me form a world view and get the best understanding of the truth.  It is part of my legacy (primarily the personal and opinion essays) that goes to my heirs and that people who know me might be interested in. What I am willing to share about myself, my opinions and my experiences are in these blogs. Nothing more to add.  I provide a free service to people I know who often may not be exposed to these kinds of factual subjects. Others can spend the time and effort to research and do the same thing. But I do ...
